    JOB SUMMARY:

    As the Rhinestahl Global Sourcing Manager, you will provide strategic leadership, expertise and drive the selection, evaluation and management of long-term supplier business relationships globally.  Develop processes and solutions that ensure superior supplier performance and quality materials. Establish purchasing and supplier polices/practices that are aligned with Rhinestahl’s company mission, business requirements and customer’s needs. 

    Responsibilities

    KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Travel regularly to countries around the globe and domestically, to find and develop the best sources (product/materials) at the lowest cost. Represent the company’s interests, develop, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure supply.
    • Identify and assess prospective suppliers’, manage their capabilities, and audit certifications, to ensure that they will become a trusted partner and contribute to growing our business.
    • Manage supplier on-boarding from initial receipt of RFQ, Quoting, Production, Inspection.  This will include visits and holding regular conference calls/web meetings to walk the new supplier through the process.
    • Participate in or lead process improvement projects to streamline Supplier Performance operations;
    • Monitor key performance indicators, analyzes cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinate cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives; identify areas of opportunity, and lead strategic collaboration efforts with suppliers. Identify trends or poor performing suppliers and take action as necessary including developing Recovery Plans and process improvements when needed.  Interface with supply base/manufacturing to ensure accurate material schedules.  Measure and manage supplier "On Time Delivery” performance.
    • Drive cross functional engagement to remove roadblocks necessary to improve Supplier performance.
    • Leads strategic projects and initiatives with suppliers to capture new value and reduce overall end-to-end supply chain costs. Initiatives could include (but not limited to): lead-time reduction, establishing supplier safety stock agreements, end-to-end ordering and network blueprinting, and leading Kaizen process-improvement events with suppliers.
    • Leads the daily activities and focus of the Supplier Account Managers.
    • Supports the supplier performance scorecarding process and is committed to driving improvements to improve overall scorecard ratings.
    • Creates and fosters and environment of continuous improvement, teamwork, accountability and innovation.
    • At times may serve as backup to the Sr. Manager in his/her absence. Represents the overall team and may present regular recaps of initiatives to senior leadership.
    • Schedule and lead critical supplier reviews with leadership and operations
    • Responsible for meeting departmental goals, business plans and cost commitments/achievements using appropriate metrics and benchmarking
    • Keeps abreast of sourcing trends in the marketplace; industry benchmarking to ensure a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

    • Education
    • A technical degree is required (preferably Engineering). Knowledge of welding, fabrication and machining, is highly desired.
    • Work Experience
    • Five plus years of strategic sourcing experience including directing and leading negotiation activities – identifying the best global product/materials at the lowest        possible landed cost, and best payment terms. Understands RFQ processes, contract       development and execution.
    • Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence at senior management level both internally and externally
    • Be able to use root cause analysis and problem-solving tools to resolve complex issues with other departments.
    • Knowledge of Manufacturing Technologies; Basic or Advanced knowledge of Production control methods;
    • Strong Results oriented with capability to execute and follow-through; Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with conflicting / changing priorities.
      • Ability to determine the natural thru-put, recognize bottlenecks, potential stoppages and devise improvements and eliminate them with effective measures.
    • Supply Chain/Production control experience. 
    • Supplier development experience. Growing new supplier into a strategic partner.
    • Meets departmental goals, business plans and cost/commitments/achievements, using appropriate metrics and benchmarking. 
    • Significant domestic and global sourcing experience. Extensive travel required (domestic and international); availability to travel 75% of the time
    • International Asia experience a major plus.
