  • Overview


    Responsible for leading the procurement/fulfillment of tooling, equipment and replacement parts and monitoring daily sourcing function to meet business needs. Key objectives include negotiation of new supplier contracts, strategic process review and improvement, and development of related process documentation.



    • Partner w/Director of Sourcing to evaluate capability, capacity, and quality of supply base and initiate necessary changes to sustain growth.
    • Develop processes to maximize purchase output and reduce internal turn-around time.
    • Use the competitive bid process to solicit capable sources to obtain favorable pricing and delivery.
    • Prepare request for quotation and purchase orders in timely manner and obtain PO acknowledgements from suppliers.
    • Review proposals, negotiate and issue purchase agreements with supply base at best total cost.
    • Track and report measurements such as cost reduction, output and turn-around time.
    • Respond to internal requests for expedited quote or delivery to meet customer expectations.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
    • Perform other duties and specific projects as assigned.





    • Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or seven years in manufacturing environment, preferably in procurement/purchasing role.
    • Preferred certification in either Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Production & Inventory Management (CPIM).
    • Work experience
      • Three to five years of related experience in leading purchasing/sourcing/buying.

    • Computer knowledge – Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Access, ERP

    • Strong demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills
    • Strong oral/written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all internal/external partners. Demonstrated ability in successful negotiations.
    • Available for domestic/international travel.
