    Job Summary:

    The Manager, Engineering, will lead technical program implementation for Rhinestahl AMG. This leader will do this by managing the contract administration, estimating, engineering and program management functions and ensure their working alignment with all AMG groups.  As a staff level role, the Manager, Engineering will work closely with all functions at AMG to ensure the engineering department is working with the organizations mission, strategy, goals and programmatic priorities. 

     

    The Manager, Engineering, manages all quoting activities; oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency (taking into consideration input from the operations resources to ensure the best solution); ensures detailed process sheets for 100% repeat jobs are available; is responsible for the overall project plans for each job received.  The Manager, Engineering, leads and directs the work of assigned team members.  

    Responsibilities

    • Leads Contract Administration and Job Execution Team kick off process
    • Leads all quote activities, meeting quote deadlines
    • Leads and ensures 100% of repeat jobs have detailed process sheets for manufacturing
    • Leads program management functions within engineering department so that customer and business expectations of delivery, quality and Gross Margin are met or exceeded
    • Sets and monitors expectations on detailed router development so that OTD, 1st pass yield and scrap targets are met or exceeded
    • Attract, develop, coach and retain high-performing team members while building out full team to support department and business goals with top performers
    • Promote collaboration with Senior Management, Finance, New Business and Operations leadership to establish relationships that help fulfill our strategic plan
    • Support a culture of accountability around all assignments
    • In collaboration with staff peers and engineer/program leaders, ensure that decisions related to the allocation of resources are made based on the achievement of long term and short term programmatic goals
    • Support all current and new product introduction
    • Demonstrate comprehensive experience in process design and development
    • Track internal trends and identify process improvements based on observed data
    • Quickly adapt to fluid situations and keep focused on delivering on own goals / commitments
    • Collaborate with and educate others on process and technical issues
    • Approach issues from multiple perspectives and collaborate with internal/external customers in generating creative, effective and practical solutions
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by manager

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
    • Minimum of 10 years related management experience
    • Hands on experience in leading a variety of initiatives, including leadership of major programs, engineering initiatives, and new product development
    • Must have high emotional intelligence, strong written and verbal communication skills and enjoy building and maintaining personal relationships
    • Persuasive, credible and polished communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
    • Proven track of advancement while leading teams
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal as well as external partners and other organizations
