    Position Overview: 

    Responsible for coordinating the procurement of goods including tooling, equipment and replacement parts resulting in meeting business needs while executing business objectives.  This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals with the development of practical and innovative ways to identify and meet those goals. 

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with the Director of Strategic Sourcing to evaluate capability, capacity, and quality of supply base and initiate the necessary changes to sustain growth.
    • Develop processes to maximize purchase output and retain internal turn-around time.
    • Use the competitive bid process to solicit capable sources to obtain favorable pricing and delivery.
    • Prepare request for quotation and purchase orders in timely manner and obtain PO acknowledgements from suppliers.
    • Review proposals, negotiate and issue purchase agreements with supply base at best total cost.
    • Track and report measurements such as cost reduction, output and turn-around time.
    • Respond to internal requests for expedited quote or delivery to meet customer expectations.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
    • Perform other duties and specific projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or seven years in manufacturing environment, preferably in procurment/ purchasing role.
    • Preferred certification in either Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Production & Inventory Management (CPIM).

    Work Experience:

    • 3-5 years of related experience in a purchasing/sourcing/buying.

    • Computer knowledge – Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Access, ERP

    • Srong demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all internal/external partners.  Demonstrated ability in successful negotations.
    • Available for domestic/ international travel
