  • Overview

    Responsible for coordinating the procurement of goods including tooling, equipment and replacement parts resulting in meeting business needs while executing business objectives.  This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals with the development of practical and innovative ways to identify and meet those goals.      


    • Use the competitive bid process to solicit capable sources to obtain favorable pricing and delivery.
    • Prepare request for quotation and purchase orders in timely manner and obtain PO acknowledgements from suppliers.
    • Review proposals, negotiate and issue purchase agreements with supply base at best total cost.
    • Track and report measurements such as cost reduction, output and turn-around time.
    • Respond to internal requests for expedited quote or delivery to meet customer expectations.
    • Support special projects or initiatives as required.
    • Understand strategies for assigned programs and proactively drive initiatives to meet sourcing objectives.
    • Perform other duties and specific projects as assigned.


    • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Work experience
      • 3-5 years of related experience in purchasing / sourcing
    • Job specific attributes/skills
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in reading blueprints and interpreting specifications
    • Computer knowledge – Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Access, ERP
    • Attention to detail, organized, and accurate
    • Proven problem solving and organizational skills
    • Ability to communicate with all levels inside and outside the organization. Must be able to successfully interact with all internal departments to meet their needs. 
    • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written with demonstrated experience in successful negotiations
