Overview

Leads associates in the control of all materials / products throughout the manufacturing facility. Coordinates with purchasing and quality the receipt and shipment(s) of raw materials, purchased items, scrap materials, and products while ensuring the safety of the products and material handlers. 

Responsibilities

  • Plans shipments based on the shop schedule and feedback from production and the Quality departments.
  • Plans labor to ensure that the receipt and shipment of all raw materials, purchased items, scrap materials, and products are completed on time. While verifying these items are handled per the Rhinestahl AMG Quality Manual and procedures.
  • Controls the storage of Materials, Fixtures, tooling within the facility and in the JOBBOSS system.
  • Assists Production planning in the movement of materials within the facility to reduce Queue times.
  • Assists the accounting department in verifying inventory levels of materials and products as well as their locations.
  • Organize files, photos and other required documentation per procedures to ensure proper records are on file in case of shipment or product damage occurs.
  • Works with transportation companies to ensure on time pickup and delivery as well as controlling cost on AMG’s behalf.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

  • Education –
    • HS Diploma / GED or equivalent; one year relevant technical school or equivalent experience preferred
  • Work experience
    • A working understanding of material handling equipment.
    • Knowledge of inventory techniques and terms.
    • Full understanding of common practices used in shipping / Receiving of complex, precision and sometimes fragile products throughout the world.
  • Job specific attributes/skills
    • Conceptual skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry
    • Excellent verbal communication
    • Reading – ability to read, analyze and interpret safety, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and common technical information and reports, including the ability to read and understand blue prints
    • Writing – ability to prepare correspondence that conforms to prescribed style and format
    • Reasoning – ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations, utilizing critical thinking skills
    • Computer skills including the Microsoft suite, knowledge of typical inventory systems.
